Health service is next to education service and humanitarian services through NGO activities the Archdiocese caters its services to. It runs 1 hospital and 13 dispensaries at very nominal charges and for deserving cases free service is given. It offers discount to the poor who cannot even pay the minimum required charges.
1. CMC Hospital, Koirengei, Imphal
A 150 Bedded Multi Specialty Hospital with 8 Departments including Interventional Cardiology unit (the first in the state of Manipur) with various departments like Medicine, Paediatrics & Neonatology, Surgery (Including Gastroenterology), Orthopaedics & Physiotherapy, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Cardiology, Radiology. Situated in a calm and serene area out of the suburban areas of Imphal town with the background of the low hill ranges in the East and West placed within a compact and beautiful complex.
Catholic Medical Center (CMC Hospital) is a 150 bedded Multi-speciality Charitable Hospital owned and managed by the mission Archdiocese of Imphal, Manipur. It was established and dedicated to the people of the region with a special focus to serve the poor, marginalized and the vulnerable on 26th June 1995 by Shri.Rishang Keishing the then Chief Minister of Manipur in the presence of Rt.Rev.Joseph Mittathany DD the Archbishop of Imphal, Manipur and the inspiration behind the upcoming of the institute. Today it has grown to the status of a premier Health institute of the State with 8 full-fledged departments including Medicine (including Interventional Cardiology), Surgery, (including GI and Thoracic Surgery), Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics (including Physiotherapy), E N T, Ophthalmology & Radiology.
It is owned and managed by the Archdiocese of Imphal, Manipur and a Group of Dedicated religious sisters belonging to the Sacred Heart Congregation who separately manage the daily internal administration. CMC has been built by the Mission Archdiocese of Imphal to continue the healing mission of Jesus . Irrespective of caste or creed CMC reaches out to the sick and the suffering in partnering the healing ministry of Jesus.
